To minimize the risk of an allergic reaction, we strongly recommend following these precautions. Instructions on how to perform a skin allergy test are included in the Product Safety & Usage insert in your Kit. We've also included the instructions below:
- Clean an area the size of a quarter in the bend of your elbow with soap and water. Pat dry.
- Using a plastic utensil (not a metal utensil), mix a few drops of the hair color developer with a few drops of hair color in a plastic or glass container.
- Tightly (and immediately) recap the hair color and hair color developer bottles.
- Apply the mixture to the test area with a cotton swab or cotton ball.
- Let the test spot dry. Do not wash, cover, or disturb the area for 48 hours.
- Examine the test area periodically over the next 48 hours.
If you experience any reaction in or around the test area, such as redness, burning, swelling, or irritation, do not color your hair until you consult a doctor. You may also contact us within 30 days for a refund.
